Responding to Alberta's critical need for skilled labour in the steep sloped roofing division of the roofing industry.
Why a Dedicated Steep Slope Program?
Education and effective training is important. The AARA strives to raise the standards of quality and reliability in Alberta’s roofing industry. We believe a dedicated steep sloped training program will raise the level of professionalism and quality of work in our province as well as alleviate issues such as poor workmanship, homeowner concerns and fluctuating labour costs.

What is Required?
Pre-requisites:
- Construction safety training system (CSTS) 2020- Fundamentals through the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) - Students can visit ACSA website, sign up for a free STUDENT PORTAL account and take course at no cost. Proof of completion will need to be provided before classroom instruction begins.
**Please Note: If student signs up on ACSA website and they are not an employee of a company with an ACSA account, please select the 'ACSA Student' division option when creating a free account**
What do I get?
Students will receive:
- 10 Days of in Classroom Instruction
- First Aid Training & Certificate- Intermediate Level C- In classroom course, 2 days in class. (if the student already has valid Intermediate level C First Aid training with at least 6 months remaining on the certification, they are exempt from both days)
- Fall Protection Training for Roofers & Certificate - Covers Alberta Legislation required for fall protection instruction of workers laid out in OH&S Code Part 141
- a Roofers Bucket equipped with harness, ropes, and anchor
- a key understanding of safe steep sloped roofing practices and workplace safety
- a key understanding of how to prepare and install a steep sloped roof
- employment opportunities from quality AARA member companies
- introduction to Alberta's Roofing Apprenticeship program
- AARA Certificate of Steep Slope Roofing Competence

DAY 1 (FEB 24) & DAY 2 (FEB 25) OMITTED
This option is intended for those who intend to participate in the program but are already First Aid certified. Proof will need to be provided.

Course ONLY

This option is intended for those who intend to participate in the FALL PRO 1 DAY training on Wednesday, February 26 ONLY. Class will run 8:30am - 4:00pm.
2-Day Intermediate Level C
